Singaporeans may apply for library membership using the online ' Apply for Membership form' Those who opt to use their NRIC as their membership card, must visit the selected branch library to activate it. Permanent residents and foreigners will not be able to use this online form. They will have to apply personally at a branch library. Note the following items and fees: Status Items To Bring Fees Singaporean 15 years & above NRIC - No fee for using NRIC as membership card OR $5.00 if a membership card is required. Child i) Birth certificate AND ii) One Parent's NRIC - Free membership card Permanent Resident 15 years & above i) Passport AND ii) Re-entry permit or blue NRIC - $10.30 one-time registration fee and no subsequent subscription fee is required. Potential members are encouraged to use their blue NRIC as membership card - $5.00 if a membership card is required. Loan Period : 21 days Top Premium Membership and Privileges How do I apply for Premium Membership? You have to be a library member before you can apply for the Premium Service. Note that Video-Lending members are automati' cally converted to Premium Service members. Registration : Register as a Premium Service member at the Customer Services Counter of any community or regional library with your NRIC or library membership card. Annual Subscription Fee : $20.60 (including 3% GST). This fee is non-refundable. Privileges : Premium Service members can borrow up to eight items (books, magazines, videos or CD-ROMs). Loan Quota : Premium Service members can use either their NRIC or membership card to borrow an additional four items on top of the four books or magazines. These items can be books, magazines, videos or CD-ROMs. Loan Period : 21 days for books and magazines. Seven days for videos and CD-ROMs. Collection : Audio-Visual Lending items can only be collected from the Libraries, where they are located, and cannot be routed to another library for pick-up. Policy : The videos and CD-ROMs borrowed from the library are strictly for private viewing. Duplication, circulation and renting out of the tapes and CD-ROMs are not allowed.
