Do I need to be a member to access the Services?
No. You can access the basic services without being a registered member. However, you will not be able to access the value-added services such as viewing contents online, receive personalised alert services or perform payment transactions unless you are a registered member.

Do I have to pay for the service?
You will be charged S$0.03 per minute after you log in. Printing charge is $0.30 per page. Charging will stop once you log out. If you are a newly registered member, you will be given up to 30 minutes of free use for your first log in.

How can I pay for the service?
You will need a CashCard to open and top up your pre-paid account at the Multimedia Pre-payment station. The maximum is S$15.00.

What is Reminder Service?
The Reminder Service is an additional benefit to NLB members. Members can opt to be reminded via mail or fax before loan due dates. However, they will not receive any reminders after the due date. In addition, members must take note that absence of a reminder is not a valid reason for a waiver of fines.

Can I send my reference enquiries?
Click on "Library Services", then choose Reference Point in the pull-down menu.

What is Library Services?
This allows access to library transactions for members of the National Library Board.

How do I login?
You need to be a registered user. At the Home Page, enter your Username and Password and click on the 'Go' button. Remember that the Password is case sensitive.

How do I change my password?
To change password, click on the "My Account". The screen will change and display the "My Account" page. Click on "Change Password" and follow the online instructions provided.

What should I do if I forget my password?
You can request for your password to be sent to your email address (if you have provided one during your registration) or to be displayed on screen (if you have not provided an email address during registration). However, this can be activated only if you successfully answer the question to which you have provided during your registration. Click on the 'Forgot Password?' link. The screen will change and display 'Forgot Password?' page and follow the online instructions.

What is My Account for?
This is a feature for registered users. Users can check loan status and outstanding library payments such fines, renewal fees, and they can make payments there. Users can update their particulars and profile there as well.

Can I update my personal particulars online?
You are strongly encouraged to update any change in your personal particulars. To update your particulars, click on "My Account", then "Change Particulars". Your personal particulars submitted during registration will be displayed. After you have completed your updates, click on the 'Submit' button.

What is My Bookshelf?
My Bookshelf allows you to store catalogued items, which you have searched, such as a particular book, video or CD-ROM, and the URLs within this Multimedia Services.

What is OneBrowse?
OneBrowse provides the browsing facility for online content. Users are able to select from a wide range of CD-ROMs, videos titles, and databases as well as access NetLibrary's e-books.

What is OneSearch?
OneSearch is the search engine that allows users to search NLB resources including online content and library catalogue. There are both basic and advanced search modes. The basic search does a keyword search, and also provides some search shortcuts. The advanced search provides users with additional search fields including title, author, subject, ISBN/ISSN and call no. It also allows search limit by material type, publication year and branch.

How do I logout?
Click on 'Logout'. Please do logout each time after using.

How do I print the data I want?
Within the pop-up window, click on the frame which you want to print and click on the print button. You will be asked to confirm if you have clicked on the correct frame. If you have, proceed with the printing. You will be charged S$0.30 per page.

What is Popular Keywords?
This feature serves as a quick search facility based on the frequently searched keywords by users. Just click on any of the listed keywords to perform a basic search without having to key in the search term.

How do I register as a member?
If you are an existing NLB member, just click on "Click here to pick up your ID" on the Home Page. Then, key in details as required. We will have the Form pre-filled for you. You can fill ion a few more details, click on the 'Submit' button and the registration will be done. If you are not an existing NLB member, click on "Sign Me Up" on the Home Page. Fill in the Registration Form and click on the 'Submit' button to submit your registration. Registration is free of charge.

What is Take A Peek?
This feature allows users to browse a selected list of content by subject categories. Each subject is sub-divided into a second level. Highlights from both print and multimedia collection will be listed.
